বাড়ি সামনে চোলাই মদ বিক্রির প্রতিবাদ কর়াই গৃহবধূকে হাঁসুয়া দিয়ে কুপিয়ে খুনের চেষ্টা বাঁচাতে গিয়ে আক্রান্ত স্বামী। গুরুতর আহত গৃহবধু দিপালী চৌধুরী মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে শনিবার রাত্রিবেলা হবিবপুর থানার দেবীনগর এলাকায়। ঘটনার তদন্ত শুরু করেছে পুলিশ।
জানা গিয়েছে, বেশ কয়েকমাস ধরে প্রতিবেশী নন্দলাল চৌধুরীর বাড়িতে অবৈধ ভাবে মদ বিক্রি শুরু করেছে। ফলে এলাকায় বাড়ছে মদ্যপ ও বহিরাগতদের আনাগোনা। প্রতিনিয়ত চিৎকার চেচামেচি। ফলে এলাকার পরিবেশ যেমন নষ্ট হচ্ছে তেমনি তার ছেলে মেয়েদের পড়াশোনার ক্ষতি হচ্ছে। দিন দিন এই মদ বিক্রি ও বহিরাগতদের সংখ্যা বাড়ছে। শনিবার রাত্রিবেলা গৃহবধূ বাড়ি থেকে বেড়িয়ে নন্দলালের বাড়িতে গিয়ে মদ বিক্রির প্রতিবাদ করে। এই নিয়ে তাদের বচসা শুরু হয়। দিপালী বাড়িতে চলে আসে। এরপর রাত্রিবেলা নন্দলাল ও তার দলবল দিপালীর বাড়িতে চরাও হয়ে মারধর শুর করে সেই সময় হাঁসুয়া দিয়ে মহিলাকে কুপিয়ে খুনের চেষ্টা করে ঘটনা দেখতে পেয়ে স্বামী পুর্ণ চৌধুরী বাঁচাতে গেলে তাকেও মারধর করা হয়। ঘটনার চিৎকার শুনে গ্রামবাসীরা ছুটে আসতেই অভিযুক্তরা পালিয়ে যায়। গ্রামবাসীরা আহত দুইজনকে উদ্ধার করে স্থানীয় স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্রে নিয়ে যায়। সেখানে প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার পর স্বামীকে ছেড়ে দেওয়া হলেও স্ত্রীর মাথায় আঘাত গুরুত্বর থাকায় মালদা মেডিক্যালে কলেজে স্থানান্তর করা হয়। আহতর পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে নন্দ লাল চৌধুরী সহ চারজনের নামে হবিবপুর থানায় অভিযোগ দায়ের করা হয়েছে। তদন্ত শুরু করেছে পুলিশ।
