আবারও পনের বলি হলেন গৃহবধু। মৃত ওই গৃহবধূর নাম রুবি বিবি। ঘটনা ঘটেছে মালদার পুকুরিয়া থানার ডাঙ্গা মোড় এলাকায়। ঘটনার লিখিত অভিযোগ দায়ের হলেও এখনও অধরা অভিযুক্তরা।পরিবার সূত্রে জানা গেছে দু’বছর আগে পুকুরিয়া সম্বলপুর বাসিন্দা রুবির সাথে বিয়ে হয় ডাঙ্গাপাড়া আমানত আলীর। তাদের একটি পুত্র সন্তান রয়েছে। বিয়ের এক বছর পর থেকেই পনের আরো টাকার দাবি করছিল অভিযুক্ত স্বামী। মৃত গৃহবধুর পরিবারের লোকের অভিযোগ, জুন মাসের 19 তারিখে ওই গৃহবধূকে বাড়ী থেকে বের করে দেয় তার স্বামী। ৫০,০০০/- টাকা না নিয়ে আসলে বাড়িতে ঢুকতে দেবে না বলে। হুমকিও দেয় সে। রুবি তার পরিবারের লোক কে এই কথা বললেও 50 হাজার টাকা যোগাড় করা সম্ভব হয়নি। তাই গায়ে আগুন দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করার চেষ্টা করে ওই গৃহবধূ। অগ্নিদগ্ধ অবস্থায় ওই গৃহবধূকে ভর্তি করা হয় মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে। বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে তার মৃত্যু হয়। কুড়ি তারিখ ঘটনার লিখিত অভিযোগ থানায় দায়ের হলেও পুলিশের নিষ্ক্রিয়তার অভিযোগ তুলছেন মৃতার পরিবার। পারিবারিক এই বিবাদ নিয়ে গ্রামে এর আগেও সালিশি সভা হয়েছিল বলে দাবি করে ওই এলাকার পঞ্চায়েত উপ প্রধান। যদিও পুলিশের দাবি মৃত্যুকালীন জবানবন্দি রেকর্ড করে ঘটনার তদন্ত শুরু হয়েছে। অভিযুক্তরা ফেরার থাকায় গ্রেফতার করা সম্ভব হয়নি।
